Are you a dedicated mental health professional who is passionate about helping teenagers achieve emotional well-being? If so, we invite you to consider joining our team at InsightDBT, where we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals through our hybrid Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) practice.
Our Hybrid Practice Model
At InsightDBT, we offer a hybrid practice model that combines in-person and virtual sessions to provide flexibility and accessibility for both therapists and clients. Our practice is based in Merrick, New York, and we require therapists to be able to practice within the state of New York.
The Opportunity
As a therapist at InsightDBT, you will have the chance to work with teenagers and their families, helping them navigate challenges and develop essential skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. We also service adults in a limited capacity. Our practice places a strong emphasis on creating a supportive and collaborative environment to facilitate lasting change.
Qualifications and Requirements
- CDBT Certification: We are looking for therapists who are dedicated to continuous growth and learning. All therapists at InsightDBT are required to work towards obtaining the Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (CDBT) certification. Training towards this certification can be done on-site.
- Licensure and Eligibility: We welcome applications from licensed Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors who are eligible to practice in New York.
- Comfort with Teenagers: Our practice focuses exclusively on teenagers, so a genuine comfort and interest in working with this population are essential.
- Weekly Consultation: As part of our commitment to quality care, all therapists are expected to participate in weekly consultation meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and learn from each other's experiences.
Internship Opportunities for Mental Health Counseling Students
We are also excited to offer second-year internship opportunities for Mental Health Counseling students who are seeking to accrue clinical hours towards licensure. Please note that these internship positions are only available to students in New York State.
